Fox Mustangs are immune.

They’re Fairmonts in a party dress. A Fairmont could never hurt anyone.

A service manager I once worked for told me the story of an encounter he had while working at another dealer:

Customer came in for an alignment, and came back again complaining that it still pulled to the left. They check it again: it’s perfectly within spec.

The service manager looks at the owner, (a heavyset fellow), and says “let’s go for a drive to confirm.” The owner drives, briefly taking his hands off the wheel to prove that it is indeed pulling left. So the S.M. suggests trading places. He drives around with with the owner in the passenger seat, who is shocked and confused to find that the car now pulls to the right, which it NEVER did before.

The S.M. carefully chooses his next words: it’s not the car that’s causing this , and offers to align it for the driver, tuned specifically to compensate for his weight.

The owner humbly declined.

That makes me sad but also reminds me of something similar.

My parents used to work for a repo company. They managed to get a 74 stingray that was repoed. The previous owner was very large. The driver’s seat was squished. The suspension leaned to the left even with no one in the car. It all had to be replaced.

I think I know a guy that would murder you for saying that.

There’s always one. It’s still better than a Mustang II.
